Measuring a cylinder
Prerequisite
Cylinder barrel is cleaned.
Check
- Carry out a measurement at all cylinders.
- Adjusting measuring screw to nominal dimension of cylinder bore.

- Insert the internal measuring device into the micrometer and set it to zero.
- Measure the cylinder using the internal measuring device at the following points and check the deviations from the nominal dimension.
- Lower third of the cylinder bore in the direction of travel
- Lower third of the cylinder bore perpendicular to the direction of travel
- Center third of the cylinder bore in the direction of travel
- Center third of the cylinder bore perpendicular to the direction of travel
- Upper third of the cylinder bore in the direction of travel
- Upper third of the cylinder bore perpendicular to the direction of travel
Result
» Cylinder does not correspond to the specifications.
Measure
- Replace the crankcase.
