- Perform all work only on components that have cooled down.

Damage to wires when disconnecting connectors and plug connections.
Sheared wires can cause a short circuit.

- Do not pull on wires when disconnecting connectors and plug connections.
NOTE:
The cable of the oxygen sensor monitor is gray. The installation location of the oxygen sensor monitor is behind the catalytic converter.
Disconnecting all battery ground leads
- See additional information.
- Release heat shield (1) on the side member.
- Release the nut (1).
- Loosen screws (2).
- Set heat shield (3) aside.
- Release cable from power distribution of front positive battery cable.
- Release cover (1) at detents (2).
- Remove the cover (1) in an upwards direction.
- Undo the nut (1) and feed out the corresponding cable.
- Undo the nuts (2) and feed out the corresponding cables.
- Set aside all cables.
- Unlock connector (1) with screwdriver (2) and remove from the carrier plate.
- Unlock and disconnect connector (1).
- Release the oxygen sensor monitor (1) with the special tools 0 493 751 (11 9150) and 0 491 075 (11 7 030) .
- Remove the oxygen sensor monitor (1).
