Tensioning the coil spring (RWD)
NOTE:
Schematic diagram is for example purposes. Some parts may differ in certain details.
- Clean coil spring to remove heavy contamination.
- Attach the spring strut (1) to the coil spring with the special tool 2 318 833.
- Ensure that the coils of the coil spring rest completely in the recesses of special tool 2 318 833.
- Tension the coil spring until dimension (B) is reached at the special tool 0 493 556 (31 3 341).
Basic version: Dimension (B) = 65 mm
SPORT version: Dimension (B) = 25 mm
BMW M Performance Automobile version: Dimension (B) = 25 mm
- Ensure that dimension
(B) is not exceeded.
