Installing the oxygen sensor monitor

NOTE: TECHNICAL INFORMATION
Grease the threads of new oxygen sensors thinly and evenly.

For oxygen sensors that are reused, the following should be observed:

Thinly and evenly grease the oxygen sensor on the thread only. Do not clean the part of the oxygen sensor that does not protrude into the exhaust line (sensor ceramics) and do not grease.

Prepare the oxygen sensor.
Do not damage the sensor ceramics.

Lightly and evenly lubricate the thread (1) of the monitoring oxygen sensor.

Insert the oxygen sensor monitor (1) and install it.

Tighten the monitoring oxygen sensor (1) with the special tools 0 493 751 (11 9150) and 0 491 075 (11 7 030).

TIGHTENING TORQUES SPECIFICATION

Oxygen sensor monitor on catalytic converter
M18X1.5	tightening torque	50 Nm

Insert the wire of the monitoring oxygen sensor (1) in the holder (2) and install it.

Feed in the connector (1) in direction of the arrow and install.
Ensure that the locking mechanism (2) engages audibly.

Connect and lock the connector (1).
Make sure the connector (1) engages audibly.
