Removing the left and right heat shield

Removing the gasoline particulate filter of cylinders 1 to 4

WARNING: Hot exhaust system.
Risk of burning!

Any work must exclusively be carried out with an exhaust system that has cooled down.

NOTE: RISK OF DAMAGE
Damage to the gasoline particulate filter.
Forcibly removing, installing or dropping the gasoline particulate filter down will damage it.

Remove and install the gasoline particulate filter without damaging it and without applying external force.
Avoid impacts/knocks to the gasoline particulate filter (e.g. by tools, falling down, hard contact with base).

G14/G15/G16:

Remove screws (arrows).

Feed out and remove the front underbody protection (1).

Loosen screws (1).

Release the pressure line (1) with an open ring wrench (2).

Feed out the pressure line (1) with the gasoline particulate sensor downwards and remove it.

Unclip the pressure line (1) from the retaining clips (2).

Feed out the pressure line (1) downwards.

Release the heat shield (2) from the heat shield below.

Release right heat shield (2) from the other heat shield.
Thread out and remove right heat shield (2) towards top.

Release the pressure line (1) with an open ring wrench (2).

Feed out the pressure line (1) downwards with the gasoline particulate filter sensor and remove it.
