Removing the airbag unit of the steering wheel or sports steering wheel
WARNING:

- Before performing any work on the airbag, always disconnect the battery ground lead from the battery.
- Airbag unit may only be set down with the cushion (airbag itself) facing upwards.

Incorrect handling of the tool may damage the steering wheel.

- Make sure the position (angle and inclination) of the tool is correct.
- When unlocking, do not use "levering" action. Instead, press in the Torx screwdriver toward the center of steering wheel only.
- Insert the Torx screwdriver T25 (1) diagonally upwards in the hidden opening on the rear of the steering wheel until a springing kind of resistance can be felt.NOTE: To provide a better overview: Schematic diagram with airbag unit removed.
- Push in Torx screwdriver T25 (1) diagonally upwards in arrow direction and press the wire spring towards middle of the steering wheel to unlock the airbag unit.
- Repeat procedure on the left side and carefully lift the airbag unit.
- Disconnect the plug connection (1) and remove the airbag unit.
