Topping up the motor oil
NOTE:
RISK OF DAMAGE. Engine damage caused by excessively filling the engine with motor oil. Filling an excessive quantity of motor oil may cause engine damage.
- Observe the exact motor oil filling capacity.
- Allow engine oil to drip off when draining.
NOTE:
RISK OF DAMAGE. Damage on the petrol particulate filter. Vehicles that are equipped with a petrol particulate filter must be operated with low-ash engine oil.
- Only use ENGINE OILS approved by BMW for the respective engine.

Observe the sign in the engine compartment! Only fill with approved engine oil of the correct (Society of Automotive Engineers) vis grade.

- Fill in motor oil at the oil filler neck.

- Close oil filler cap (1).
Follow-up work
- Install the DME control unit COVER .
- Install acoustic COVER .
- Recommendation: perform an electronic OIL MEASUREMENT .
- Replace battery of the REMOTE CONTROL KEY(S) .
- Perform the CBS RESET .
