Remove the wiper blade

NOTE: TECHNICAL INFORMATION
The wiper arm must not touch the windscreen or the rear window without a wiper blade. Otherwise the windscreen or the rear window could be damaged.

In the event of a customer complaint about the cleaning or wiper performance and/or noise (windscreen wiper judder, squeaking noise) of the wiper blades, proceed as follows:
First, check if the customer complaint is caused by contamination (preservation wax with new vehicles, tree resins or other environmental influences) on the windscreen. If necessary, clean the windscreen thoroughly.
Replace the wiper blades only if cleaning the windscreen fails to remedy the situation.

NOTE: Description is for left component only. Procedure on the right side is identical.

Prepare for operating readiness.
Hold the wash/wipe switch down until the wipers stand still in a roughly vertical position.
Fold out the wiper arm (3) and open the lock (1).
Remove the wiper blade (2) from the wiper arm (3) in the direction of the arrow.
