Remove side airbag from front seat
Prerequisite
- Front seat and front seat backrest are adjusted completely towards the front.
Preliminary works
- Disconnect all battery EARTH LEADS .
- Remove the front seat backrest REAR PANEL .
- Remove front seat OUTER COVER .
WARNING:

- Before performing any work on the airbag, always disconnect the battery earth lead from the battery.
- Airbag unit may only be set down with the cushion (airbag itself) facing upwards.

- All work on pyrotechnic parts may be carried out by technically experienced and appropriately trained personnel only.
- Replace any damaged part or ones that have been dropped.

- Detach the backrest cover (1) in indicated area.
- Loosen clip (1).
- Detach the backrest cover (2) in this area (3).
- Unlock plug connection (1) and disconnect.
- Cover the area around the rivet head (2).
- Drill out the rivet head (2).
- Remove the airbag module from the backrest frame and lining pocket (3) in the direction of the arrow.
- Fully remove rivet remnants.
