Preparing tires for installation
NOTE:
TECHNICAL INFORMATION
For the installation and removal of runflat tires and UHP tires, please note:
The work may only be carried out by persons who have the "Certified BMW tire fitter" certificate.
Only tire mounting machines approved and certified by BMW may be used.
Only mounting levers with a plastic cover approved by BMW and tire-mounting pastes approved by BMW may be used.
The installation procedure found in the operating instructions for the tire mounting machine and must be observed.
If tire sealant has been used, the built-in wheel electronics and the valve must be replaced.
For approved wheel and tire combinations, tire brands and optional equipment: refer to the applicable BMW Parts Catalog.

Follow the Owner's Manual provided by the manufacturer of the tire mounting machine.

The customer is to be informed that strong acceleration or strong braking should be avoided initially.
The assembly paste can cause the tire to turn on the wheel rim and result in an imbalance.

Preliminary work
- Make sure that the tire has a temperature of at least 23°C.
- Clean the wheel and tire.
- Check wheel rim for wear, damage and burrs.
- Clean the tire beads and check for damage.
- Check the wheel electronics for damage and replace where required.
The tire valve must be replaced after the wheel electronics have been disassembled.
