Removing gas cartridge for crash-active head restraint

Prerequisite 

• Head rest has been completely extended.
  WARNING: Pyrotechnic components. Danger!  Life-threatening injuries!
• All work on pyrotechnic parts may be carried out by technically experienced and appropriately trained personnel only.
• Replace any damaged part or ones that have been dropped.

Preliminary works 

• Deactivate the 48 v ELECTRICAL SYSTEM .
• Disconnect all battery EARTH LEADS .

• Pull cover (1) out to the side slightly and unclip toward the back.

• Unlock plug connection (2) and disconnect.
• Slightly raise the lock (3) and turn the gas cartridge (4) in the direction of arrow.

• Pull gas cartridge (1) out toward the rear.
