- Conduct all work in the vehicle wearing appropriate personal protective equipment only.

- When working on the fuel system, make sure the workstation has sufficient ventilation, e.g., by means of extraction.
- Tightly seal off open lines and connections; collect any leakage fuel directly at the point of exit.
- No fire, sparks, open flames or smoking.

TECHNICAL INFORMATION
Collect and dispose of emerging fluids. Observe country-specific waste disposal regulations.

- Cover the alternator with a lint-free rag (1).
- Loosen screw (2).
- Pull off the coolant feed line (3) for the left-hand exhaust turbocharger.
- Catch and dispose of leakage coolant.
- Loosen screw (1).
- Loosen union nut (2).
- Catch and dispose of leakage fuel.
- Release the cable from the clamp (1).
- Loosen screws (2).
- Remove retaining plate (3).
- Loosen screw (1).
- Unscrew the banjo bolt (2).
- Catch and dispose of emerging motor oil.
- Release the screw (1) from the coolant feed line.
- Unscrew the banjo bolt (1).
- Pull out and remove the coolant-feed line for the left-hand exhaust gas turbocharger.
