Install front brake pads (17-inch Low brake)

• Observe direction of rotation of brake pads. 

  The arrow (1) must always point upwards towards the bleed valve.

• Remove the protective film of the adhesive layer (1) at the brake pads.

  The adhesive layer (1) must not be taped.

• Position brake pads (1) completely onto hammerhead guides first (2).
• Press in the brake pads (1) into the brake caliper in the direction of the arrow.

• Check fit of slide plate (1) and correct if necessary.

• Remove the special tool (cable tie) 2 413 317. 
• Install brake caliper (1) in arrow direction.
• Replace screws.

  Parts:  screw

• Tighten down screws (2).
  TIGHTENING TORQUES SPECIFICATION
  
  

  Brake caliper/brake anchor plate at front swivel bearing
  M12 Replace screw.	Tightening torque	110 Nm

• Replace the carriage spring.

  Parts:  Carriage spring

The carriage spring must be replaced every time it is disassembled.

• Insert carriage springs in arrow direction (from the center of vehicle to the vehicle exterior).

  The carriage spring must engage with the locking mechanism (1).

• Check carriage spring (1) for correct latching into stop.

Follow-up work 

• Install the front brake pad WEAR SENSOR .
• Install the front left and right WHEELS .
• Commission/bed in (break-in) new BRAKE PADS and brake discs.
• Perform the CBS RESET .
