Checking/Topping up the transfer box oil (Active Torque Control 13-1)
Preliminary work
- Check the OIL LEVEL of the transfer box with the diagnostic system using an appropriate scan tool.
- Remove rear UNDERBODY PROTECTION .
- Remove transmission CROSS-MEMBER .
NOTE:
RISK OF DAMAGE. Damage to the transmission. Damage to the transmission due to unapproved transmission oil.
- Use only the APPROVED TRANSMISSION OIL .
- Check the TRANSMISSION OIL LEVEL after completing the repair.
- Open the oil filler plug (1).
- Check the transmission oil level on the transfer box (VTG).
- If necessary, top up the transmission oil up to the lower edge of the opening for the oil filler plug using special tool 0 493 337 (00 2 080). TECHNICAL DATA - TRANSFER BOX SPECIFICATION
Filling capacity of transfer box Transfer-box oil min. 0, 7 L - Replace the oil filler plug (1).
Parts: Oil filler plug
- Tighten the oil filler plug (1).

Follow-up work
- Install transmission CROSS MEMBER .
- Install rear UNDERBODY PROTECTION .
