Replace the front silencer
WARNING:

- Perform all work only on components that have cooled down.
CAUTION:
Component with heavy weight.

- Note component's center of gravity.
- Support component using a jack.
- Secure component against falling off the jack.

Shavings resulting from sawing or grinding components.

- Conduct all work in appropriate personal protective equipment only.
- Wear safety goggles and hand protection.
Exhaust system
- If the separation point is not marked by a punch mark in the pipe, determine the separation point by means of the pipe length on the new front silencer.
- Carry over separation point to faulty front silencer and mark.
- Protect the front silencer (1) from falling.
- Cut through exhaust pipes at marked point with a suitable tool.
- Loosen the clamp (1) on the left.
- Loosen the clamp (1) on the right.
- Lower and remove front silencer with assistance of a second person.
- Adjust the new front silencer (1) and connect it to the center silencer with clamps.
- If necessary, replace clamp (1).
- Tighten the clamp (1) on the left.TIGHTENING TORQUES SPECIFICATION
Exhaust system/front silencer to catalytic converter cl.
If necessary, replace clamp.Tightening torque 55 Nm - If necessary, replace clamp (1).
- Tighten the clamp (1) on the right.TIGHTENING TORQUES SPECIFICATION
Exhaust system/front silencer to catalytic converter cl.
If necessary, replace clamp.Tightening torque 55 Nm - Center the clamps (1) and tighten down.
