Removing the coolant pump

- Perform all work only on components that have cooled down.
NOTE:
Vehicles versions prior to 11/2015 are equipped with a coolant pump with a switch. Do not exchange it separately. The component carrier must be replaced complete with the coolant pump (conversion to coolant pump without switch).
NOTE:
After the installation of the coolant pump without switch, the then unused vacuum hoses must be sealed with sealing caps.
NOTE:
Vehicles versions as of 11/2015 are equipped with a coolant pump without a switch. It can be exchanged separately.
NOTE:
Collect and dispose of emerging fluids. Observe country-specific waste disposal regulations.
Preliminary work

- Refer to REMOVING THE COVER ON LEFT AND RIGHT IN THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT AT THE TOP .

- Refer to REMOVING FRONT CROSS CONNECTION .
- Refer to REMOVING THE REAR TOP CROSS CONNECTION .
- Refer to REMOVING THE FAN COWL .
- Refer to REMOVING THE DRIVE BELT FOR ALTERNATOR .
- Refer to REMOVING THE FRONT UNDERBODY PROTECTION OR FRONT THRUST FIELD .
- Refer to REMOVING THE FRONT THRUST FIELD .
- Refer to DRAINING THE COOLANT FROM THE HIGH-TEMPERATURE COOLING SYSTEM .
- Detach vacuum hose (1).
- Loosen screws (2) and (3).
- Detach the coolant pump from the component carrier and remove towards the top.
