Installing coolant pumps

• Clean the sealing surface (1) from oil and contamination.

  Check 

• Check the lining sleeve (1) for damage.

  Desired state

• Lining sleeve must not be scratched or deformed.

  Result 

  » Lining sleeve is damaged.

  Measure

  • Completely replace the coolant pump.

  Parts:  Coolant pump

  Check 

  • Check the sealing bead for damage.
  • Check the protrusion of the sealing bead (1) on the coolant pump (2).

  Result 

  » The sealing bead (1) is not protruding or the sealing bead (1) is damaged.

  Measure

  • Replace sealing bead (1) on the coolant pump (2).
  NOTE: The processing time of the liquid sealing compound can be at a maximum of 10 min.
  NOTE: Commissioning of the assembly is not possible until 25 minutes after the processing time.
  NOTE: Non-observance can lead to leaks in the assembly.
  • Reapply sealing bead.

• Have the special tool 2 469 803 ready.

• Position the sealing compound (1) as shown on the special tool 2 469 803.

  • Position the coolant pump on the component carrier.
  • Tighten down screws (2) and (3).
  TIGHTENING TORQUES SPECIFICATION
  
  

  Coolant pump with function carrier on crankcase
  M8 x 35	tightening torque	19 Nm

  • Clip on the vacuum hose (1).
