Removing the oxygen sensor monitor

- Perform all work only on components that have cooled down.
Preliminary work
- Refer to REMOVING THE ACOUSTIC COVER .
- Refer to REMOVING INTAKE SILENCER HOUSING .
- Refer to REMOVING THE RESONATOR WITH THE TOP CLEAN AIR PIPE .
- Refer to REMOVING THE HOLDER OF THE POSITIVE BATTERY CABLE .
- Refer to REMOVING THE LAMBDA OXYGEN SENSOR .

NOTE:
RISK OF DAMAGE
Damage to wires when disconnecting connectors and plug connections.
Sheared wires can cause a short circuit.
Damage to wires when disconnecting connectors and plug connections.
Sheared wires can cause a short circuit.
- Do not pull on wires when disconnecting connectors and plug connections.
NOTE:
The cable of the oxygen sensor monitor is gray. The installation location of the oxygen sensor monitor is behind the catalytic converter.
- Unlock and loosen connector (1).
- Unlock locking mechanism (1) with a standard screwdriver (2).
- Guide out connector (3) in arrow direction
and set it aside.
- Release the line of the oxygen sensor monitor (1) from the holder (2).
- Release the oxygen sensor monitor (1) with the special tool 0 491 074 (11 7 020) .
- Remove the oxygen sensor monitor (1).
