Filling of the refrigerant oil by injection (530e PHEV 2018-2022, 530e xDrive PHEV 2018-2022)
Special tools required:
- 2 286 910
- Countries, in which BMW i vehicles or hybrid vehicles are delivered with R134a refrigerant.
- Workshops in these countries that do not have a separate A/C service station for BMW i vehicles or hybrid vehicles.
- If a BMW i vehicle or a hybrid vehicle (refrigerant R134a, refrigerant oil Sanden SP-A2) is to be filled with an A/C service station for R134a and the storage tank of this A/C service station is filled with the refrigerant oil ND-8.
Observe NOTES on refrigerant and refrigerant oil from 09/2013!
- EVACUATE REFRIGERANT circuit and fill with refrigerant.
(Do not fill in refrigerant oil)
- Disconnect refrigerant lines of A/C service station from high pressure and low pressure connection on the vehicle.
(A/C service station no longer needed)
- Define coolant oil level to be filled in:
Parts of refrigerant circuit were not replaced:
Coolant oil level to be filled in =
Coolant oil level drawn off by means of A/C service station + 4 ml addition (for volume of the hose)
Parts of refrigerant circuit were replaced (air conditioning compressor excluded)
Coolant oil level to be filled in =
Coolant oil level drawn off by means of A/C service station + extra amount for new part +
4 ml addition (for volume of the hose)
When replacing the air conditioning compressor:
Coolant oil level to be filled in =
Coolant oil level drawn off by means of A/C service station +
Coolant oil level determined from previous air conditioning compressor +
4 ml addition (for volume of the hose)
- Pour coolant oil amount to be refilled into a clean
measuring cup.
- Screw out knurled screw (1) so as to make room for the coolant oil amount to be filled into the special tool 2 286 910, if necessary.
- Unscrew lid (2).
- Fill in refrigerant oil from measuring cup into special tool 2 286 910 via opening of lid (2).
- Screw hose (4) on lid (2) until hand-tight.
- Screw lid (2) with hose (4) on special tool 2 286 910.
- Rotate knurled screw (1) until refrigerant oil slightly emerges from opening (3).
- Screw low pressure quick-release coupling (5) on hose (4).
Tightening torque: 10 Nm
- If necessary, turn the screw (1) on the quick-release coupling for low pressure (2) counterclockwise.
- Connect quick-release coupling for low pressure (2) with low pressure connection on vehicle and tighten screw (1) in clockwise direction.
- Screw in knurled screw (3) completely until reaching stop.
- Turn screw (1) counterclockwise. Remove the quick-release coupling for low pressure (2) from the low pressure connection on the vehicle.
- Delete the fault memory.
