Removing expansion valve for high-voltage battery unit

NOTE: DANGER High-voltage system. The high-voltage system operates on the basis of hazardous, electrical voltage and high currents. Mortal hazard through electric shock!

Preliminary work

Remove right flap in luggage compartment TRIM PANEL .
De-energize the HIGH-VOLTAGE SYSTEM .
CHECK that no voltage is applied.
Suction the AIR CONDITIONING .
Remove the tank COVER .

CAUTION: Refrigerant circuit under high pressure.
Injury hazard!

Note and follow the manufacturer safety instructions on containers.
Avoid contact with refrigerant; wear safety goggles and hand protection.

CAUTION: Residual pressure in the heating and air conditioning system.
Injury hazard!

Wear safety goggles and protective gloves when disconnecting the refrigerant line.
Close the refrigerant lines with seal plugs.

Unlock plug connection (1) and disconnect.
Loosen nut (2).
Carefully remove the refrigerant line.

Carefully remove the expansion valve (2) off toward the bottom and remove it.
