The use of metal-cutting tools (e.g., emery cloths) for cleaning surfaces can damage them and lead to leaks and/or engine damage.

The use of metal-cutting tools (e.g., emery cloths) for cleaning surfaces can damage them and lead to leaks and/or engine damage.
- Do not use any metal-cutting tools.
- Remove coarse backlogs from the sealing surfaces of the cylinder head and the crankcase using special tool 0 495 103 (11 4 471). NOTE: RISK OF DAMAGE

- Remove fine backlogs from the sealing surfaces of the cylinder head and the crankcase using special tool 0 495 104 (11 4 472).
- Clean all blind holes of the cylinder head and the engine block.
- Remove special tool (B) from special tool 2 364 711.
