Replacing front crankshaft seal
- Make sure that the grooves of the rotational arms (2) of the special tool 0 493 923 (11 9 410) for insertion on the radial shaft seal (1) are positioned at a 90° angle to the spindle (3).
- Insert the special tool.
- Make sure that the grooves of the rotational arms (2) on the special tool 0 493 923 (11 9 410) for pulling out the radial shaft seal (1) face the spindle (3).
- Turn the spindle clockwise (arrow direction).
Temperature sensor Protect the special tool from falling.
- Remove the radial shaft seal (1).
- Clean the contact surface of the crankshaft seal (1).
- Replace radial shaft seal (1) at front.
Parts : Radial shaft seal
- Position the radial shaft seal (1).
- Set and join the special tool 2 0 493 924 (11 9 420) with the central bolt (3).
- Use the special tool (2) 0 493 924 (11 9 420) and the central bolt (3) to screw in the radial shaft seal (1)
flush.
- Unscrew the central bolt (2) counter-clockwise.
- Remove the special tool (1) 0 493 924 (11 9 420) .
- The Woodruff key (1) must be in the crankshaft (3) and secure the sprocket wheel (2) against twisting.
If there is no Woodruff key (1), it must be replaced and the valve timings must be set subsequently.
