Remove Outer Wheel Arch Section With Reinforcement

Further information is available.

• Remove cavity sealing (1).
• Carry out separating cuts (2) and (3) as shown.
• Release welded connections in areas (4).

• Carry out separating cuts (1) and (2) as shown.
• Loosen welded connections in areas (3).
• Remove reinforcement on C pillar.

• Open welded connections in area (1).
• Remove the C-pillar insert (2).

• Open the welded connections in the area (1) and remove the C-pillar tie rod.

• Mark the severance cut (1) in accordance with dimension and cut.

  Dimension a = 280 mm.

• Release welded connections in areas (2).

• Continue the separating cut (1) from the previous operation as shown.

• Mark severance cut (1) according to schematic diagram and disconnect.

  Do not damage the underlying bonded connection (2) in the process.

  Separate only the outer panel!

• Open the welded connections in the areas (3) from the inside.

• Release the welded connection in areas (1).

• Open spot-welded adhesive joints in areas (2).
• Loosen the bonded rivet connection joints in the areas (3).

  When opening the bonded rivet connections, do not damage the rivet connections in the area (4) in the process.

• Remove outer section of wheel arch.
