Replaceing the wheel carrier
Prerequisite
- WHEEL CARRIER removed.
Preliminary work
- Remove rear brake GUARD PLATE .
- Loosen screw (2).
- Remove the holder (1).
- Release the spherical-collar bolts (arrows) with the special tool 2 472 903 .
- Remove wheel bearing (1).
- Replace wheel carrier (2).
Parts: Wheel carrier
- Recut the thread for the spherical-collar bolts on the wheel bearing.
- Clean the contact surfaces (1) of the wheel carrier (2) and the wheel bearing (3).
The contact surfaces (1) must be clean and free from oil and grease.
- Position wheel bearings (1) on the wheel carrier.
- Replace the spherical-collar bolts (arrows).

- Tighten the spherical-collar bolts (arrows) with the special tool 2 472 903
.TIGHTENING TORQUES SPECIFICATION
Wheel bearing to wheel carrier M12
Replace spherical collar screws.
Tighten the spherical-collar bolts crosswise.
Tightening sequence must be strictly adhered to and carried out on all spherical-collar bolts at the same time!Tightening torque 20 Nm Initial torque 140 Nm Unscrew all bolts. max. 45° Tightening torque 120 Nm Angle of rotation 90° - Position holder (1).
- Tighten down screw (2).TIGHTENING TORQUES SPECIFICATION
Holder of wheel speed sensor on wheel carrier M6
Replace screw.Tightening torque 12 Nm
Follow-up Work
- Mount rear brake GUARD PLATE .
