Observing the direction of extraction and direction of insertion of the rubber mounts for the rear axle support

WARNING: Motor vehicle may slip off the vehicle hoist where components are supported.
Danger! Life-threatening injuries!

Secure the vehicle hoist against lowering and lifting.

Preliminary work

Remove the rear left and right WHEELS .
Remove the tank COVERS .
Remove EXHAUST SYSTEM
If installed: remove the torsion struts MOUNTING BLOCK .
Remove the left and right camber control arm COVER .
Remove the rear HEAT SHIELD .
Release the rear axle differential PROPELLER SHAFT .
Disconnect the rear ride height sensor PLUG CONNECTION .
Detach right and left CABLES .
Disconnect the left and the right PLUG CONNECTIONS .
If installed: release the CABLE .
If installed: release the WIRING HARNESS .
Detach rear left and right BRAKE CALIPER .
Prepare the SPECIAL TOOL .
Position the SPECIAL TOOL on the rear axle support.
Release the rear left and right from the wheel carrier spring strut SHOCK ABSORBER .
Detach REAR AXLE .
Remove complete rear AXLE SUPPORT .

WARNING: Motor vehicle may slip off the vehicle hoist if the weight is distributed unevenly.
Danger! Life-threatening injuries!

Ensure there is a specific weight compensation on the motor vehicle.

NOTE: RISK OF DAMAGE
Damage to the rear axle support.
Damage to the rear axle support due to non-compliance of direction of extraction and the direction of insertion of the rubber mount.

Adherence to the pull-out and pull-in direction is absolutely mandatory.

The direction of extraction and the direction of insertion of the rubber mounts as well as the direction of travel (F) is to be observed:
- Extend and retract front rubber mount (1) to the rear.
- Extend and retract rear rubber mount (2) to the top.
