Removing the drive for the outer backrest width adjustment

Prerequisite

Fully adjust the front seat and front seat backrest to the front.

NOTE: Description is for left component only. Procedure on the right side is identical.

Preliminary works

Disconnect all battery EARTH LEADS .
Remove front seat OUTER COVER .
Remove the top rear panel on the front seat REAR PANEL .
Remove the rear panel at the bottom of the front seat REAR PANEL .
Remove front seat side AIRBAG .

Slightly fold backrest cover (1) to one side.
Cover the working area to prevent swarf from penetrating the backrest.
Drill out the blind rivet (2).

Unlock plug connection (1) and disconnect.
Carefully remove the drive unit (2).
Remove any riveting residue.
