Remove the gate pair for the glass slide/tilt sunroof

NOTE: RISK OF DAMAGE
Electrostatic discharge.
Damage to or destruction of electrical components.

Leave electrical components in original packaging until just before they are installed. Use the original packaging only for any return shipments. Always package removed components straight away.
Read and comply with user information on using the associated special tool 12 7 060.
Only touch the housings of electrical components. Do not touch pins or multi-pin connectors directly.
Wear electrically conductive clothing and antistatic shoes (with ESD symbol).

Preliminary work

Remove the roof FUNCTION CENTER (FZD).
Remove the glass slide/tilt SUNROOF GAITER .
Remove glass slide/tilt SUNROOF PANEL .

NOTE: RISK OF DAMAGE
Careless handling of tools and sharp-edged components.
Scratch, surface damage.

Protect working area.
Handle tools and components carefully.

NOTE: TECHNICAL INFORMATION
Initiate manual movements of guide element via the drives using an offset hexagon socket key.

Loosen left and right screw (1).

Move back the gate (1) as shown.

Make sure that water channel is pushed back as well. If necessary, secure the water channel with a cord so that it can be pulled out again later.

Lever out the limit position (2) towards the outside.

Move the gate (1) up to the recess (2).

Hold down the lever (1).
Move the gate (2) until it is positioned in the vent position.

Lever out the control lever (1) from the guide rail and fold it forwards.

Remove the control lever from the gate.

Hold lid gate (1) at bolt (see arrow).
Move the drive carriage (2) backwards until it is possible to remove the lid gate (1) from the drive carriage (2).

Reposition the lid gate (1) and remove it from the gate.
