- Install exhaust camshaft adjuster

- Installing the intake adjuster
- Installing the VANOS central valve of the intake adjuster
- Remove the test gauges for securing the camshafts
- Adjusting the camshafts with the special tool
- Pre-tensioning the timing chain with the special tool
- Tightening the VANOS central valve of the exhaust camshaft adjuster
- Tightening the VANOS central valve of the intake adjuster
- 11 36 047 Removing and installing both adjusters, left (M550i xDrive, 2020-2022)
- Remove the sealing cap on the cylinder head of the cylinder bank 2
- Moving the crankshaft to the installation position to adjust the timings
- Check the VANOS adjuster of cylinder bank 2
- Relaxing chain tensioner on bank 2 for checking or setting timing
- Removing hydraulic chain tensioner of cylinder bank 2
- Preloading the timing chain of cylinder bank 2
- Fixing the engine in the installation position on cylinder 1 (set valve timings)
- Removing both left VANOS adjusters
- Installing both left VANOS adjusters
- Removing special tool to pretension timing chain on cylinder bank 2
- Installing the hydraulic chain tensioner of cylinder bank 2
- Installing the sealing cap on the cylinder head of cylinder bank 2
- 11 36 048 Removing and installing/replacing both adjusters, right (M550i xDrive, 2020-2022)
- Remove the sealing cap on the cylinder head of the cylinder bank 1
- Moving the crankshaft to the installation position to adjust the timings
- Checking the VANOS adjuster of cylinder bank 1
- Relieving the chain tensioner at cylinder bank 1 for checking or setting the valve timings
- Removing hydraulic chain tensioner of cylinder bank 1
- Preloading the timing chain of cylinder bank 1
- Fixing the engine in the installation position on cylinder 1 (set valve timings)
- Removing, installing, replacing the VANOS adjusters on the right
- Removing the special tool to pretension the timing chain at cylinder bank 1
- Installing the hydraulic chain tensioner of cylinder bank 1
- Install the sealing cap on the cylinder head of cylinder bank 1
- 11 36 112 Removing and installing/replacing the intake adjuster, left (M550i xDrive, 2020-2022)
- Remove the sealing cap on the cylinder head of the cylinder bank 2
- Moving the crankshaft to the installation position to adjust the timings
- Check the VANOS adjuster of cylinder bank 2
- Relaxing chain tensioner on bank 2 for checking or setting timing
- Removing hydraulic chain tensioner of cylinder bank 2
- Preloading the timing chain of cylinder bank 2
- Fixing the engine in the installation position on cylinder 1 (set valve timings)
- Replacing the left intake VANOS adjuster
- Removing special tool to pretension timing chain on cylinder bank 2
- Installing the hydraulic chain tensioner of cylinder bank 2
- Installing the sealing cap on the cylinder head of cylinder bank 2
