WIND NOISE AT DOOR HANDLES

SITUATION
At highway speed, there is a fluttering wind noise coming from the area of the door handle; any door handle may be affected.
CAUSE
The bow handle cover is not properly sealed against the door.
CORRECTION
After verification of cause, replace the bow handle cover.
PROCEDURE
For conditions that are similar to the situation described:
- Place adhesive tape over gap between the back end (the moving end) of the door handle and the door surface. Wrap tape all the way around this end of the door handle being sure to adhere the tape to the handle and the door surface.
- Test drive vehicle.
- Was the noise still able to be heard?
- YES- continue standard diagnosis.
- NO - replace the bow handle cover or mounting bell (driver's door).
