DYNAMIC STABILITY CONTROL (DSC) WARNING LAMP, LIGHTS UP
This Service Information bulletin supersedes SI 34 01 16 dated October 2016
SITUATION
Various "DSC warning lamps lights up in the instrument cluster, including the display: "Suspension control system failed".
CAUSE
DSC control unit
CORRECTION
Reprogram DSC control unit
PROCEDURE
- Perform vehicle test with ISTA/D.
Is fault code 0x4807D8 or 0x4807DA in memory for the DSC control unit?
- YES - Go to Step 2.
- NO - continue diagnosis by performing the associated test plan in ISTA/D.
- Delete the fault memory and program and code the vehicle with ISTA/P 3.59.4 or higher.
- Target integration level: S15A-16-07-506 or higher.
Note that ISTA/P will automatically reprogram and code all programmable control modules that do not have the latest software.

Always connect a BMW approved battery charger/power supply (SI B04 23 10 ).

When ISTA/P automatically reprograms and codes all the vehicle control modules that currently do not have the latest software and control module failures occurred during this programming:
- Please claim these consequential control module repair work under the defect code listed in this bulletin with the applicable KSD2 labor operations.

Control module failures that occurred prior to this programming and/or additional work that is performed as a result of performing the ISTA diagnostics and related test plans:
- When covered under an applicable limited warranty, claim the control module and/or other repairs using the applicable defect code and labor operations in KSD2.
