SITUATION
A Delivery Stop has been issued (effective November 10, 2017) on Model Year 2018 BMW 5 Series and 7 Series vehicles produced from October 2-24, 2017. This delivery stop involves the coolant return line for the power electronics.
The retaining clip on the quick-release coupling of the coolant return line does not meet specifications. If it become loose, then a leak could occur in the low-temperature coolant circuit.
Approximately 21 vehicles affected by this stop are in dealer inventory, and 416 vehicles are stopped at the VDCs.
Vehicles which are affected will show the campaign as "Open" when checked either in AIR or ISPA Next. Once the Warranty Vehicle Inquiry system is updated on Saturday, November 11, 2017 it will display the same information. The affected vehicles will be identified with the campaign description: STOP012667 B17 08 17 Delivery Stop: PHEV Coolant Return Line - Do not deliver or retail .
As a reminder, you will see a stop sale flag next to affected vehicles in all dealer availability reports, locator and vehicle inquiry starting November 11, 2017 (updates overnight).
