SITUATION

CAUSE

CORRECTION

The IHKA (Integrated Automatic Heating and Air-conditioning) system for G30 has new functions compared to the previous F10 (5 Series). Refer to TRI B64 04 17 for information on how to maximize the air conditioning performance.

Remove the foam from both sides of the center vent fresh-air duct.

PROCEDURE

For complaints that the air flow is unevenly distributed between outlets of the center ventilation grille follow the below steps:

NOTE: Excessive force used in the removal of the foam air duct liners may cause misalignment or displacement of the air ducts in the instrument panel. Care should be exercised to eliminate this possibility.

Labor Operation: Labor Allowance: Description:
51 45 380 Refer to KSD2 Removing and installing right decor strip on instrument panel (Main work)
Or:    
51 45 880 Refer to KSD2 Removing and installing right decor strip on instrument panel (Plus work)
And:    
64 99 000 3 FRU Work time to remove the foam from both sides

If you are using a Main labor code for another repair, use the Plus code labor operation 51 45 880 instead of 51 45 380.

Refer to KSD2/AIR for the corresponding flat rate unit (FRU) allowances.

Work time labor operation code 64 99 000 is not considered a Main labor operation. Also, since the "work time" FRU allowance to be claimed is specified, a separate punch time is not required.
