B-PILLAR WIND NOISE

SITUATION
While driving at highway speeds, wind noise can be heard from the rear of either or both front doors.
CAUSE
Sealing lip of inner window cavity seal is bent as shown on left below. Seal placement should be as shown on right, parallel to green line.
CORRECTION
Replace seal if necessary.
PROCEDURE
For conditions that are similar to the situation described:
- Inspect seal.
Is seal bent as shown in left picture above?
YES - continue to Step 2.
NO - continue troubleshooting for other sources of noise.
- Disassemble door trim panel per REP 51 41 000 "Removing and installing left or right front door trim panel".
- Reinstall the inner window cavity seal according to REP 51 21 330 "Removing and installing/replacing the weather strip on the inside of the front door".
- Reinstall door trim panel according to REP 51 41 000.

Labor operation code 51 21 330 is a Main labor operation. If you are using a Main labor code for another repair, use the Plus code labor operation 51 21 829 instead.
Refer to KSD2 for the corresponding flat rate unit (FRU) allowance.
Work time labor operation code 51 99 000 is not considered a Main labor operation. Also, since the "work time" FRU allowance to be claimed is specified, a separate punch time is not required.
