SERVICE INFORMATION

This Service Information Bulletin (Revision 1) replaces SI B00 04 25 dated February 2025,  and SI B 00 07 20 dated April 2020.

What's New  :

INFORMATION

This Service Bulletin applies to BMW, BMW M and BMW ALPINA models with specified components that require a "run-in" fluid change/replacement service after the first 1,200 miles of vehicle operation after the replacement occurs.

These required services were originally included in the "Service - running-in check" task.

When one of these specific components is replaced during a vehicle repair, a follow-up "run-in" fluid replacement service is also required after the first 1,200 miles operation after the replacement of these specific components.

NOTE: It is not necessary to perform a full 1,200 Mile running-in check service task pertaining to the entire vehicle again. Only perform the required individual fluid servicing that apples to the specific component that was replaced.

The 1,200 Mile running-in service may include one or more of the following components:

IMPORTANT: Failure to have the individual component's "run-in" fluid service performed after their replacement will result in a loss of Warranty or Parts Warranty coverage on the replaced component, and any other components that fail as a result of not performing this service.

This applies to applicable new and remanufactured replacement components.

For more information refer to the applicable Service and Warranty or Maintenance booklet, applicable maintenance bulletin in Group 00 on TIS/AIR and the applicable repair instructions.

Failure to have these component follow-up services performed will result in a loss of Warranty or Parts Warranty coverage on the replaced component including any other consequential component failure that is due to not performing a required 1200-mile component fluid replacement service.

This applies to applicable new and/or approved remanufactured replacement components.

Please refer to the vehicle's applicable Service and Warranty booklet, Maintenance booklet, and the corresponding New Vehicle Preparation and Maintenance Requirement bulletin in TIS Main Group 00 in TIS and ETK/AIR and the BMW Group's Chemical Program for approved fluids.

CLAIM INFORMATION

When applicable and required, the "run-in" fluid replacement service after 1,200 miles that is done after a covered prior replacement of eligible component is also covered under the terms of the BMW New Vehicle Limited Warranty for Passenger Cars and Light Trucks, Parts Warranty, or the BMW Certified Pre-Owned Program that applies.

REPAIR CODE

Submit this fluid service under the same Repair Code that was used to credit the claim for the component replacement.

This Repair Code information is available either on the claim's Detailed Credit Note or in the Warranty Vehicle Inquiry (WVI) - Repair History (Claims) section.

NOTE: The Repair Code used to credit the claim could be different than the one that your center originally used and entered for your claim submission.

FLAT RATE LABOR OPERATION CODE

Refer to the replaced component's corresponding Main Group in AIR to obtain the applicable fluid replacement labor operation coded. Like operation codes contained in Main Group "00" are not claimable for this situation.

And, as needed:

SUBLET - BULK SUPPLY MATERIALS (RO AND CLAIM COMMENTS REQUIRED)

Sublet Code 4  Reimbursement for the repair-related bulk supply materials (Do not use the BMW part number for claim submission) See the sublet reimbursement calculations below

Sublet reimbursement calculation for claiming the applicable repair-related bulk supply material (BMW part number) is at the dealer net (DN) price for the full or proportional quantity used plus your center's handling.

Enter this material cost in sublet and itemize the amount on the repair order and in claim comment section.
