BXX ENGINE OIL DRAIN PLUG THREAD REPAIR TOOLS

BMW:	All models with a 12 mm engine oil drain plug and an aluminum engine oil pan

INFORMATION

A new boring tool has been developed to address the challenges with the Bxx engine oil pans. The new boring bit will not interfere with the engine oil pump or the side wall material of the aluminum oil pan. Additionally, a new adapter has been developed to allow the existing basic thread repair tools to be used with the new style cylinder head covers/oil fill caps.

Distribution of the following tools will be through the Automatic Tool Shipment Program.

Each BMW service location will receive Qty. 1 of each of the below listed tools
All prices in this bulletin are introductory prices and are only valid during the Automatic Tool Shipment/RDC availability period

NOTE: These new tools work in conjunction with the previously released and automatically shipped 'Engine Oil Drain Plug Thread Repair Tool kit' from 2018 (P/N 83 30 2 461 309/AGA-ODP-12-14-K) - please refer to SI B04 06 18 and SI B11 07 18 for further information

New Style Engine Oil Cap Adapter (2)

Application: For use with 'oil cap with regulator' (1) from drain plug thread repair kit P/N 83 30 2 461 309. *(Oil fill caps/valve covers changed from bayonet style to threaded lock style in approx. MY2018)

Additional tools should be purchased through your BMW Regional Distribution Center (RDC) - to take advantage of the introductory pricing - until available RDC inventory is depleted. Once all existing RDC stock is gone, the BMW P/N will be blocked/canceled. WARRANTY INFORMATION

The limited warranty for the tools listed above is administered by AGA Tools and Products . The warranty period is 12 months from the date of purchase.
