Adjusting/replacing stop pads (530i 2017-2022, 530i xDrive 2017-2022, 530e PHEV 2018-2022, 530e xDrive PHEV 2018-2022, 540i 2017-2022, 540i xDrive 2017-2022, M550i xDrive 2018-2022)

The graphics are schematic representations and are to be applied to the relevant vehicle type.

Version 1: 

Following parts must not be damaged:

Adjust stop pads (1) to correct height by turning left or right.

Version 2: 

Replacing damaged stop pads (see the applicable BMW Electronic Parts Catalogue):

Press ejectors (1) into the stop pads and in this position turn approx. 90° counterclockwise with a Phillips screwdriver.

This locks ejectors (1) in the stop pads.

Adjust stop pad (2) to correct height by turning left or right.

After setting has been made, unlock ejectors (1) again.

Version 3: 

Replacing damaged stop pads (see the applicable BMW Electronic Parts Catalogue):

Stop (1) 45° counterclockwise.

Pull stop pad (2) upwards.

Close lid slowly until it is at the same height as the side wall.

Open flap and turn stop (1) clockwise.

Installation note: 

Press stop pad into panel and drive in expanding pins (3).

Screw in stop pad (1) completely until pin (2) can be pulled out.

Slowly pull the pin (2) out approx. 5 mm.

Slowly close bonnet. Pin (2) is pressed into the stop pad (1) in the process.

Raise bonnet.

Unscrew stop pad (1) until the stop pad is flush with the upper edge of pin (2).
