Notes on charging the 12V battery/high-voltage battery in display vehicles (new and used cars) (530e PHEV 2018-2022, 530e xDrive PHEV 2018-2022)

IMPORTANT: Experience has shown that failure to comply with the following points will damage batteries in the vehicle and they must be replaced consequently.

This bears significant costs!

IMPORTANT: In stationary vehicles, the 12V batteries must be recharged every 6 weeks at the latest.
In stationary vehicles, the charging requirement of the high-voltage battery must be checked every 6 weeks!
Charging the 12V batteries/high-voltage battery on display vehicles:
NOTE: When charging the high-voltage battery by means of the charging cable, the 12V batteries will be automatically charged as well.

Note for charging the 12V batteries:

⁽¹⁾	To ensure that all 12V batteries can be charged, the charging procedure must be started via the jump start terminals within 3 minutes of opening the hood.

Procedure in the case of a longer immobilization period of the vehicle when being operated by the customer

Immobilization period of up to 6 months:

Fully charge the high-voltage battery
Fully charge all 12V batteries
Connect a charging unit recommended by BMW to the jump start terminals.
Support 12V battery during the whole immobilization period using the charging unit.

After 6 months:

Disconnect charging unit from the jump start terminals.
Fully charge the high-voltage battery
Connect a charging unit recommended by BMW to the jump start terminals.
Support 12V battery during the whole immobilization period using the charging unit.

Recommendation:

Activate Battery Guard via TeleServices.
