Disconnecting the negative battery cable of the 12-V lithium-ion auxiliary battery

Prerequisite

Ignition is switched off.

WARNING: Deactivation of the 12 V vehicle electrical system.
Risk of short circuits! Risk of fire!

Make sure that no battery charger is connected to the jump start terminal point in the engine compartment.
For vehicles with additional electrical systems (48 V electrical system, high-voltage vehicle electrical system), it is mandatory to deactivate them before disconnecting the vehicle battery.

Open the flap (1) in the luggage compartment side trim panel.

Loosen nut (1).
Pull off the negative battery cable (2) from the negative battery terminal, put it to one side and fix it.
