Remove the backrest frame for the front seat

Preliminary works 

• Remove front SEAT .
• Remove front seat outer COVER .
• Remove front seat inner COVER .
• Remove the front seat rear panel top rear PANEL .
• Remove the front seat rear panel bottom rear PANEL .
• Remove the front seat crash-active RESTRAINT .
• Remove front seat head restraint height ADJUSTMENT DRIVE .
• Remove front seat side AIRBAG .
• Remove the front seat upholstery backrest COVER .

• Press the latch mechanisms (1) and push out the guide sleeves (2) towards the top.

• Unlock and disconnect plug connections (1).
• Loosen the wiring harness (2) on all cable clips.

• Press the latch mechanism and push the valve body (1) in the direction of the arrow.
• Guide out the valve body (1) from the backrest frame.

• Loosen the clips (1).
• Detach the tabs (2) of the lumbar support (3).
• Completely remove the lumbar support (3) including drive unit and valve body.

• Loosen the clips (1).
• Slightly fold back the lining (2).

• Loosen screws (1).
• Remove the backrest frame (2) from the seat mechanism (3).

• Loosen clamps (1).
• Detach the spring mat (2) from the backrest frame (3).
