What's New  (Specific text highlighted):

INFORMATION

Head unit resets can occur for many reasons. Due to the high complexity of the infotainment systems and possible external system faults, all systems must be taken into account during a head unit reset, not just usual vehicle-based diagnosis. Head unit resets can occur with not only internal system faults, but also from external accessories connected to the vehicle (i.e., mobile phones, USB devices).

If the head unit experiences incorrect system operation, the head unit restarts itself in an attempt to restore proper functionality. This is a normal internal diagnostic process when certain system faults are detected. Every new version of vehicle software addresses more of these system faults and improves head unit stability.

Due to continuous updates in vehicle infotainment systems, mobile phone software and electronic accessories software; there might be new resets introduced to head units. Because of these circumstances, a vehicle may need to be programmed multiple times in its life span.

In the case of head unit resets, the customer may experience the following:

Various known causes for head unit resets may be addressed in specific Service Information Bulletins. Please make sure to review all applicable Service Information Bulletins in TIS before diagnosis.

Please follow proper diagnostic and warranty protocol if vehicle exhibits head unit resets.
