SITUATION

After pre-delivery check or after instrument cluster exchange, BMW Service Inclusive is displayed although the vehicle does not feature the optional Service Inclusive coverage.

CAUSE

Instrument Cluster display error

CORRECTION

Upgrade software to ISTA/P 3.61.3 or ISTA 4.05.22

PROCEDURE

For conditions that are similar to the situation described:

Perform diagnosis with the latest version of ISTA.

Program the vehicle using ISTA/P/P 3.61.3 or ISTA 4.05.22 or higher.

New Integration levels after programming

F22, F23, F30, F31, F32, F33, F34, F36	F020-17-03-505 or higher

F48	F056-17-03-507 or higher
G30, G12	S15A-17-03-507 or higher

Deactivate CBS Service Inclusive feature with the service function AS6100_CBS_SERVICE_INCLUSIVE.

Note that ISTA/P will automatically reprogram and code all programmable control modules that do not have the latest software.

Always connect a BMW-approved battery charger/power supply ( SI B04 23 10 ) .

Covered under the terms of the BMW New Vehicle Limited Warranty for Passenger Cars and Light Trucks or the BMW Certified Pre-Owned Program.

Refer to KSD2 for the corresponding flat rate unit (FRU) allowances.

Vehicle Programming and Coding

When ISTA/P automatically reprograms and codes all the vehicle's control modules that "currently do not have" the latest software and if one or more control module failures occur "during" this programming procedure:

Please claim this "consequential" control module-related repair work under the defect code listed in this bulletin with the applicable KSD2/AIR labor operations.
