CROSS TRAFFIC WARNING MISSING FROM INTEGRATED OWNERS MANUAL

SITUATION

The crossing traffic warning (right of way warning) section is missing from the integral owner's manual (IBA). The picture below shows the missing text.

CAUSE

Software error in the Head unit IBA file

CORRECTION

Reprogram and encode the vehicle with ISTA/P 3.62 or ISTA 4.06.01

PROCEDURE

Program the vehicle using ISTA/P 3.62.0 or ISTA 4.06.01 or higher (these versions are expected to release Mid-June 2017).

NOTE: Until these SW versions release, please explain to the customer that the cross traffic description is available in the paper version of the owner's manual and also in the online operating instructions.

Note that ISTA/P and ISTA will automatically reprogram and code all programmable control modules that do not have the latest software.

Always connect a BMW approved battery charger/power supply (SI B04 23 10).

Refer to KSD2 for the corresponding flat rate unit (FRU) allowances.

Vehicle Programming and Coding

When ISTA/P automatically reprograms and codes all the vehicle's control modules that "currently do not have" the latest software and if one or more control module failures occur "during" this programming procedure:

Please claim this "consequential" control module-related repair work under the defect code listed in this bulletin with the applicable KSD2/AIR labor operations.
