SITUATION

Currently, the BMW original brake paste is delivered in small, one-time use packages.

Many workshops use non-BMW-released brake paste out of cans.

BMW does not recommend brake paste from other manufactures, as it is not tested and released by BMW. High copper-content-pastes can for instance lead to corrosion on aluminum brake parts.

CAUSE

The handling of the little BMW packages is inconvenient. Higher logistical efforts needed.

CORRECTION

BMW offers now its brake paste also in cans with an integrated brush. In this way, brake parts can be lubricated with the original BMW Brake Pad Paste more precisely.

PROCEDURE

Please order brake paste can and use for upcoming brake jobs.

Correct lubrication is essential for the proper operation of the brake system. For right lubrication of brake parts, please refer to attachment of bulletin B34 12 16.

NOTE: do not lubricate glued brake pads
