SERVICE INFORMATION

This Service Information bulletin replaces SI B01 01 08 dated July 2019

What's New:

SITUATION

The BMW Quality Certification 1 (QC1) claim reimbursement policy and procedure has been updated to address the termination of the Battery Care Program.

Battery Care key read procedure prior to the first delivery has been discontinued, reimbursement of the 12 volt battery maintenance step, one (1) FRU, is again now included in the following QC1 labor operations.

BMW Quality Certification 1 delivery check labor operation 00 00 010 was not affected.

Please see SI B61 18 08  for the Battery Maintenance Requirements.

CAUSE

Eligible new vehicles arriving or already in-stock at your center are to receive the applicable QC1 inspection one time.

CORRECTION

Follow the instructions in the PROCEDURE section.

PROCEDURE

Effective immediately, it is no longer necessary to claim labor operation 61 21 528 for charging the battery separately.

With claims repair dates on or after Monday June 29, 2020, the BMW claim processing system will no longer accept labor operation 61 21 528 with QC1 claim submissions.

Refer to the applicable New Vehicle Preparation and Maintenance Requirements Service Information Bulletin for the QC1 information and procedures checklists (including any model-specific additional work to be performed, when applicable).

These bulletins are located in the Maintenance and General Hints section under Unified Parts Group Main Group 00 in AIR.

Display (1) followed by a Delivery (2)

For each new in-stock vehicle you have prepared for display, submit a claim for the Display Inspection.

When a Display vehicle is sold at a later date, perform the BMW Quality Certification 1 delivery check and submit the claim.

Spot Delivery

These vehicles are eligible for the combined Display Inspection and BMW Quality Certification or the BMW QC1 - Spot Delivery.

If a center performs the Display Inspection and trades the vehicle, the final center should perform the delivery check and submit the claim for the BMW Quality Certification 1.

Before performing this work on a traded vehicle, always review the Warranty Vehicle Inquiry to confirm which portion, if any, of the QC1 inspection was already performed and claimed.
