INFORMATION

The Standard BMW Ultimate Care Scheduled Maintenance Program

The BMW maintenance program has been restructured, the new "BMW Ultimate Care Scheduled Maintenance Program" applies to model year 2017 and newer BMW vehicles.

The important program change is:

  • Standard program coverage: 3/36 "Schedule Maintenance" items/tasks only.

For more information about the "standard" 3/36 BMW Ultimate Care Scheduled Maintenance Program and the related coverage, please refer to SI B01 05 16  .

For model year 2016 and older BMW vehicle maintenance program information, please refer to SI B01 03 07  .

BMW Ultimate Care +

The owners of eligible and qualifying model year 2017 and newer BMW vehicles may purchase the optional "Ultimate Care +" Maintenance Program Upgrade (MPU).

This upgrade converts the vehicle's standard 36 month/36,000 mile BMW Ultimate Care "Scheduled" Maintenance Program coverage to the:

  • Optional "BMW Ultimate Care +" 36 month/36,000 mile "Full Maintenance" coverage program.

BMW Ultimate Care + Upgrade* - What is Covered

In addition to the items covered by the standard 3/36 BMW Ultimate Care Scheduled Maintenance Program, with the purchase of this upgrade, the following items are also covered:

  • Front/rear brake pads and in conjunction, the front/rear brake discs (non-drilled/drilled)
  • Wiper blade inserts
  • Engine drive belt
  • Manual transmission clutch disc (when equipped)

BMW Ultimate Care + Upgrade* - What is not Covered

  • Front and rear carbon ceramic brake pads and discs
  • Parking brake shoes/linings

*This also applies to the "Full Maintenance" coverage extension programs, BMW Ultimate Care +1, +2, +3 and +4, described below.

Maintenance Program Transferability (MP Refresh/MPU)

When an eligible BMW vehicle is successfully enrolled either in the MP Refresh or the BMW Ultimate Care + (MPU) programs, this will also "re-instate transferability" to the remaining portion of the maintenance program that relates to that vehicle.

BMW Ultimate Care +1, +2, +3 and +4

Once a vehicle is successfully enrolled in the optional Ultimate Care + program, four (4) additional programs to extend this "Full" Maintenance Program coverage (listed below) are now available for purchase for an eligible and qualifying 2017 model year and newer BMW vehicle.

Ext. Added Time Added Miles Total Extended Coverage Period**
1 One year (12 months) 14,000 miles 48 months or 50,000 miles***
2 Two years (24 months) 39,000 miles 60 months or 75,000 miles***
3 Three years (36 months 64,000 miles 72 months or 100,000 miles***
4 Four years (48 months) 89,000 miles 84 months or 125,000 miles***

When purchased, these programs will help provide further uninterrupted "Full Maintenance" program coverage when it is bundled together with the optional 36 month/36,000 mile "Ultimate Care +" Maintenance Program Upgrade:

For an applicable vehicle, "Ultimate Care +1, +2, +3 and +4" extended Full Maintenance program coverage becomes active once the 36 month/36,000 mile Ultimate Care + upgrade program coverage expires, either by time, mileage or both.

These Ultimate Care +1, +2, +3, +4 offerings will not appear  in DCSnet "as available for purchase" for those vehicles which only have the:

  • Standard BMW Ultimate Care Scheduled; or the
  • BMW Ultimate Care Refreshed Scheduled Maintenance Program coverage.

BMW Ultimate Care +1, +2, +3, +4 - Discounted Pricing Opportunity

If an "Ultimate Care +" and  an "Ultimate Care +1, +2, +3 or +4" program are purchased either together or separately within the first three (3) months  after vehicle delivery**, the cost of the "Ultimate Care +1, +2, +3 and +4" programs will be available at a discounted price.

**As determined by the vehicle's correct original in-service date shown in the DCSnet Warranty Vehicle Inquiry.

***Whichever occurs first.

Program Notes

The extended enrollment periods (enrollments for vehicles with lapsed 36/36,000 Ultimate Care + Upgrades) for the two, three and four year Ultimate Care + Extensions are 50 months or 50,000 miles, providing an additional 14 months or 14,000 miles for program enrollment, there is a $200.00 surcharge.

Additionally an extended enrollment period has been added for the one year Ultimate Care +1 program, of four months or four thousand miles, for a $100.00 surcharge.

An existing, previously purchased Ultimate Care +1, +2, +3 on a vehicle, may be extended to an available longer term, provided there is still an Active Maintenance Program on the vehicle.

These programs are subject to the applicable exclusions and limitations, in addition to vehicle and coverage eligibility requirements.

There will be no enrollment exceptions beyond the extended enrollment program(s) guidelines.

Excluded Models from Upgrade or Extension Programs

The BMW ALPINA and the M models equipped with ceramic brakes are excluded from all Ultimate Care + Programs.

The Refresh is available, as the standard Scheduled Maintenance Program for these vehicles is nontransferable.

Supporting Documentation Requirements

A DCSnet Warranty Vehicle Inquiry and current updated ISPA Light Key Data printout (Key Reader) matching the date of enrollment are required, and must be kept on file with the center's copy of the printed and signed Maintenance Program Agreement(s) - for program compliance and audit purposes.

Unenrollment/Removal

All Maintenance Program Agreements are automatically assigned a "pending" status for five (5) calendar days. Your center may remove an enrollment at any time during this pending period. The removal must be performed through DCS within the allotted timeframe. If the product is not removed within five (5) calendar days, the "Agreement" automatically becomes "active" and binding.

Utilizing your Center's Transaction Log

It is very important for center personnel to verify the accuracy of all enrollments/removals daily by reviewing the center's DCSnet Transaction Log and/or a refreshed Warranty Vehicle Inquiry.

Enrollment errors (i.e., incorrect VIN enrolled or incorrect program terms selected) must be identified and corrected during the five calendar day "pending" period. The center is responsible to ensure all necessary corrections are made in DCSnet, including removal of invalid entries and proper re-enrollment where applicable.

Extended Enrollment Vehicles Requiring Maintenance Services

Customer purchases during the extended enrollment period often occur when their vehicle is in immediate need for a required maintenance service. It is permitted, after successfully entering an extended enrollment, for your center to perform the required maintenance services and submit the eligible maintenance items for reimbursement.

During the extended enrollment period, should any maintenance claims be submitted to BMW on a vehicle during the "pending" period, the Agreement becomes "active" and binding immediately.

Exception Requests

The processes outlined above were developed to provide your center with an integrated and automated enrollment exception criteria and removal process.

  • BMW will no longer consider center requests for exceptions beyond the time periods, mileage limitations or guidelines outlined in this bulletin.
  • Centers will be responsible for all Agreement errors, omissions or payment collection issues beyond the removal period.

Inclusive BMW Roadside Assistance Program Upgrade

All two, three and four year Maintenance Program Ultimate Care + programs will also extend a vehicles Roadside Assistance Program benefits by the same additional time period (12, 24 or 36 months as applicable with unlimited mileage).

This upgrade does not apply to vehicles that already have extended BMW Roadside Assistance Program benefits; for example, BMW Pre-owned or Extended Vehicle Protection program vehicles.

Program Compliance

It is essential to print and have your customers sign their "Agreements" and retain their copies as their confirmation of program's terms and conditions.

The following situations are unacceptable  from an audit or legal perspective:

  • Agreement signatures showing "on file"
  • Agreements missing signatures, and/or
  • Not supplying the customer with a DCSnet-generated completed and signed Agreement

Upgrade and Extensions - Cancellations

Cancellation of an "active" Maintenance Program Ultimate Care + program is permissible, only as outlined in the Agreement.

See the Program Center Operations Manual for full details and the Cancellation Refund Schedule.
