SERVICE INFORMATION

Please perform the procedure outlined in this Service Information on all affected vehicles before customer delivery. In the event the customer has already taken delivery of the vehicle, please perform the procedure the next time the vehicle is in the shop.

AFFECTED VEHICLES

This Service Action involves approx. 10 G30 models produced from 5/15/2017 thru 5/17/2017.

Vehicles which require this Service Action to be completed will show it as "Open" when checked either in AIR, the "Service Menu" of DCSnet (Dealer Communication System); or with the Key Reader.

SITUATION

A rear anti-roll bar with a larger diameter may have been mistakenly fitted during production. The diameter might differ from that listed on the bar's identification label which is visible without removing the bar.

When Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) is active, a more frequent and stronger intervention will be felt during moderate cornering. When DSC is switched off, an increase in oversteering can be expected.

CAUSE

Supplier or factory installation oversight.

CORRECTION

Check the diameter of the rear axle anti-roll bar. If determined to be the incorrect larger diameter, replace the bar.

NOTE: Vehicles are not equipped with Active Roll Stabilization (ARS; SA ZX5).

PROCEDURE

Position the vehicle on a lift.
- Clean any debris off the anti-roll bar in the general area indicated by the red mark
- Measure the diameter of the bar at the cleaned area using a digital caliper
- If the diameter of the rear axle anti-roll bar is less than 21.1 mm, no further repairs are required
- If the diameter of the rear axle anti-roll bar is greater than 21.1 mm, replace the rear axle anti-roll bar. Refer to Repair Instructions REP 33 55 000.
NOTE: For reference, the diameter of the correct anti-roll bar is 18mm.
