This Service Information bulletin (Revision 1) supersedes SI B52 06 21 dated June 2021.

- Flat rate labor operation descriptions corrected
SITUATION
The driver's seat and/or passenger seat rattles ("cracking" noise) during load reversal. There is a slight movement in the seat that is most noticeable when moving forwards and backwards.
CAUSE
Unfavorable tolerance of the connecting elements on the seat.
CORRECTION
Replace the front outer bolt on the affected seat(s).
PROCEDURE
Proceed as follows.
- Confirm customer complaint; check both seats.
- Remove cover on the outer front seat base.
Unclip the cover from the front to rear in the direction of the arrow (G12 shown; other models' seats are similar).
Observe repair instructions 52 14 040.
- Replace the front outer bolt with part number 52 10 5 A13 770.
This new bolt has a captive washer.
NOTE: Torque bolt to 25 Nm - Clip the cover in from the rear to the front in the direction of the arrow (G12 shown).
- Then reassess the vehicle.
