SERVICE INFORMATION

This Service Information Bulletin (Revision 2) replaces SI B72 02 13 dated December 2013.

What's New (Specific text highlighted):

SITUATION

The customer may report one or more of the following situations:

  1. Safety belt will not buckle intermittently.
  2. The lower belt buckle button is stiff when releasing or connecting the safety belt.
  3. The check control message is displayed prompting the customer to buckle the safety belt while the seat is occupied.

CAUSE

Foreign objects entered into the lower safety belt buckle causes mechanical failure and damage to the switch (paper clip, paper, food, soda, water, coins?)

PROCEDURE

  1. Inspect the lower safety belt buckle and release button for any foreign objects (paper, coins, food etc).
  2. Inspect the lower safety belt buckle and release button for any signs of spillage (coffee, soda etc) as shown in photo.
