SEAT MEMORY SWITCH SPORADICALLY NOT FUNCTIONING

Selecting one of the saved seat positions (via the memory seat position switch on the door panel), fails to work.

A saved seat position cannot be retrieved.

The memory function works again after a terminal change or backrest width adjustment.

NOTE: Manual seat adjustment using the button for forward/back seat adjustment still works.

Software error in the seat module.

No permanent solution is currently available.

A final software solution is expected to be available as of November 2018 with ISTA 4.14.1x (S51A18-11-500).

For conditions that are similar to the situation described:

Perform diagnosis with the latest version of ISTA, working through test module, if needed.
If no other fault can be found, and if the fault is not permanently present, do nothing at this time.
Inform the customer that, until the final solution is available, the fault can be temporarily rectified by a terminal change or by briefly activating the backrest width adjustment.

NOTE: This bulletin will be revised as soon as further information is available.

Neither parts replacement, nor vehicle programming, provide a solution to this situation, at this time.
