SITUATION

There are no customer complaints associated with this issue.

The following control modules do not respond when diagnosing the vehicle with ISTA:

CAUSE

Body Domain Controller (BDC) diagnostic communication error.

PROCEDURE

Eligible and Covered Work/Repairs

The repair procedure outlined in this bulletin is claimable in conjunction with a repair that is covered under the terms of the BMW New Vehicle Limited Warranty for Passenger Cars and Light Trucks.

Labor Operation: Labor Allowance: Description:
61 00 009 2 FRU Work time to have a new SVT table written into the BDC

Work time labor operation code 61 00 009 is not considered a Main labor operation. Also, since the "work time" FRU allowance to be claimed is specified, a separate punch time is not required.

To submit a claim, please following the established and applicable warranty policy and procedures together with the using corresponding defect code and labor operations provided in the KSD2.
